Oliva Nova Local Rules

  1. Ground Under Repair; Play Prohibited

The area of the seedbed between holes 3 and 4 is a no play zone, and is to be treated as an abnormal course condition. Free relief must be taken under Rule 16.1f.

  1. Out of Bounds

Out of Bounds is defined by the line between white stakes and fence posts. Concrete bases supporting the out of bounds elements are part of them, and provide no relief under Rule 16.

  1. Preferred Lies

When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once, by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing from this relief area:

Reference point – spot of the original ball.

Size of relief area measured from Reference Point – one scorecard length from the Reference Point, in the general area, and not nearer the hole than the Reference Point.

  1. Extra Relief Option for Red Staked Penalty Area

When the ball last crossed the edge of the red-staked penalty area on the 7th hole, the player may drop the original ball or another ball on the either side of the penalty area, no nearer the hole than the original crossing point, incurring one penalty stroke.

  1. Immovable Obstructions

Paths surfaced with concrete, pavement or plastic grid are considered obstructions, giving the option of taking free relief under Rule 24. All others are an integral part of the course. **(Please note that under PGS Rules, relief may be also taken from paths covered in compacted sand/gravel, in accordance with R and A Rules).
