SOCIETY DAYS
The Society plays each Tuesday at Oliva Nova Golf Course a mix of stableford, medal and fun games, attracting around 40 to 50 players each week. Guests are welcome any time, subject to places being available, and this would be arranged by contacting the Handicap Secretary, via the Contact page. Players should arrive at the clubhouse no later than 8am. We also play two 'Nearest the Pin' competitions and a voluntary guess the number of 'balls in the water', and a 'twos' competition.
There are nine Major Competitions during the year, in various formats with trophies supplied by past members or Sponsors, details of which are posted under Major Competitions.
We also play a Singles Knockout Competition each year, with first round losers entering a Plate Competition.
To determine handicap difference in these matches, each player's handicap without the slope is rounded up or down to the nearest whole number (.5 is rounded up ) and then the difference between the two handicaps is the number of shots received.
